If God is calling to take a new step of faith,, a new ground.. a new task..a new calling.. what would be your response? will you say yes? or you will question God why me? why not him/her? (with matching pointing at someone else). or Lord, He/she's better than me or Lord I don't have enough experience in handling this. grabe no?! haha. so many excuses.sometimes we tend to use all the excuses in the world just to run away from God's calling. but actually we cannot.
God has called each and every one of us by name. He chose you. As the bible says: * For Many are called, but few are chosen* if you are leading a small group or you are a leader, I tell you, God has chosen you to serve Him and to take care of His flock. the bible says in
1 Peter 5:2-5
"care for God's flock entrusted to you.. Watch over if willingly not grudingly... not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don't lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your example. And when the head shepherd comes, your reward will be a never-ending share in His glory and honor."
Peter described several characteristics of good leaders in church. (Concordance)
1 Peter 5: 2-5
1. They realize that they are caring for God's flock, not their own.
2. They lead out of eagerness to serve, not out of obligation.
2. They are concerned for what they can give, not for what they will get
4. They lead by example, not force.
all of us lead is some way, Whatever our role, our leadership must be in line with these characteristics.
* This has been my devotion for one week. God is speaking to me to TAKE A NEW STEP OF FAITH, A higher ground, A higher calling. at first i was like,, Lord why me? I'm having hesitations and questions but as i seek the Lord, He slowly reveals to me His purpose and His plans for this year. As i say YES to Him.. i know He would guide and bless us.Let His will be don. I'm excited about it! although this is not an easy task. to Take care of His Flock, but by God's grace We can. Through God who strengthens us. We pray that we will see what God sees. and feel what God feels. May His heartbeat be our hearbeat!
